Ruines du soleil
Readings and discussions from the book * co-authored by Léa Bismuth, Pia Rondé & Fabien Saleil
Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 6:00 pm
The exhibition “La campagne est noire de soleil” is the fruit of an encounter, between a duo of gallerists, an artists duo and a curator. Very soon, the common desire to create a singular object, a slow hypnotic dive, between darkness and blinding brightness. The Exposer-Publier collective has allowed us to give a form to this laboratory – a book crossed by an exhibition – from which this evening will be organized. Opportunity for a reading and an open discussion, enamelled projections and multiple paths to follow, like those of a labyrinth, with as spurts: Béla Tarr’s Cheval de Turin or the musings of Elisha Reclus …
Speakers: Léa Bismth, Victor Mazière, ExposePublier, Pia Rondé & Fabien Saleil, Exposer-Publier, …

What artists ask for images
Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 6:00 pm
For two years now, the method of work characterizing the activities of the Escougnou-Cetraro Gallery has been based on the creative potential generated by the meeting and confrontation between different visions within a common project. In the continuity of this approach, the project “Au-delà de l’image” allowed us to create the space of a confrontation between the artists and the critics. These meetings, which gave rise to texts gathered in the exhibition catalog, allow to generate a reflection around the work of artists, which this conference would like to partially report.
Speakers: Charlotte Cosson and Emmanuelle Luciani, Sophie Lapalu, Ingrid Luquet-Gad, Victor Maziere, François Salmeron.
In the presence of the artists: Rebecca Digne, Laura Gozlan, Emmanuel Le Cerf, Aurélie Pétrel, Ludovic Sauvage, David de Tscharner.

Initiated in 1958, New Babylon can be considered as the last positive utopia of the twentieth century. Constant will, for nearly twenty years, have worked on this visionary project of “unitary urbanism” placing art and collective creation at the heart of the social and political project.
What can be the relevance of this ideal and totalizing vision, in a time shaped by the quantitative growth and the corollary flattening of everything? What would this New Babylonian be at a time when a generic humanity is affirming? The works of the artists on display are just some of the first steps in sketching out the contours of contemporary New Babylon living space.
Speakers: Emmanuelle Chiappone-Piriou and Aurélien Vernant work as programming officers and research officers at the Frac Center. In this context, they were curators of Villes Visionnaires - Hommage à Michel Ragon (2014) and the cycle of exhibitions Relief(s) in 2015, conceived in collaboration with the artist Aurélie Pétrel.
